Aug. 5th Village Idiot-Idle Ride's first full show since april. I must say that I could not be anymore happy for the first show to be back at the Idiot. It has turned into our home venue thanks to great owners, workers and patrons. I am excited to share our new sound with those who have been so supportive of our careers. I also want to thank everyone for being patient and letting us have 2 months off to refocus and recharge our batteries. I hope to see a lot of old friends on Aug 5, but till then take care!

Refreshed! That is a great way to describe how I am feeling today. I just got back from a week on a cruise ship and touring the Carribean. I now a lot of you have been upset with the lack of new news regarding Idle Ride. I am getting a lot of feedback about how people want us back out on the road again. That time is coming, but we first have to retool the band. We have gotten a lot of feedback from guitarists looking to join the band. I hope to have an announcement soon, but everyone needs to be patient. We will not be playing any shows until the band is ready to come back out and give you a solid performance. I feel that we owe that to all of you who come out and spend your hard earned money on our shows. Till next time, take care.

Ok, Ok we get the idea. All of us have slacked in writing journal entries. Not really a lot to write about as far as the band goes. Still trying to get everything worked out for our return. Personally I am taking some time to pursue some other personal interests. I started taking Jui-Jitsu classes recently and have been spending time with those who have had to take a back seat over the years to the bands schedule. I can honestly say that I miss the stage already, but my body and mind needed a break to heal. I hope everyone is doing well and I will do my best to update my page more often. Till then Take Care!

Well if you are on the website then you already know that Dave has left to pursue some other goals. I first want everyone to know that Dave left on the greatest of terms. Myself and the rest of Idle Ride wish him nothing but the best. We are currently talking to replacements for Dave and will announce on the website when the right fit has been found. Till then I am going to enjoy a few weekends of relaxation. I prescribe that all of our fans do the same. Keep checking back in to the site, because our new webmaster has a lot planned. Till then take care.

I want to first say that I had a great thanksgiving weekend, and had a blast playing with The Clarks again. The crowd and venue outstanding! So the band decided to our top 10 favorite albums. This became a lot harder than I thought it would be. To make this list the album has to be solid all the way through and also be ground breaking or the best body of work from a ground breaking band. My top 10 is in no particular order.

1. Counting Crows-August and Everything After
2. The Doors-Self Titled
3. Jimi Hendrix- Are You Experienced?
4. Nirvana- Nevermind
5. Rage Against The Machine- Self Titled Debut
6. Stone Temple Pilots- Core
7. Stevie Ray Vaughn- In Step
8. Toad The Wet Sprocket- Fear
9. Dr. Dre- The Chronic
10.Metallica- Ride The Lightning

So there it is! Let me know what you think.

Just wanted to thank everyone who came out and saw the show @ the Funk Box. I was amazed at how many people drove up to Baltimore for a one hour set. It meant a lot to me and the rest of the guys. Thank you for your love and support.

Well it has been an interesting morning to say the least. I woke up this morning to watch the US basketball team and low and behold that is not on. What do I get to watch? Why Olympic Trampoline! That's right that stupid bouncy thing you had as a kid is now considered as Olympic sport. So go outside and get your 3 year old sister ready, cause she to could win a medal. The last time I turned the Olympics on I got to see syncronized diving. Now does that mean that they do the same dive side by side, NO. They do different dives at the same time. I need to let you people know something. If you are involved in an activity or game that does not keep score or can't be timed for speed it is not an Olympic sport. Athletic contests are not judged by old people in suits who probably never competed in the actual event, but somehow are now experts. Gymnastics (all 50 forms), syncronized diving, trampoline, syncronized swimming, equestrian, regular diving, and so on are not sports. They are called games and activities. I realize that you need to be fit to perform some of these, but that does not make them sports. Judges should never determine winners because people are inherently going to be bias towards certain atheletes. Do you think the judges are completely void of all emotion. Now some of them do look like they died several years ago, but they are still alive and making money watching people jump and flip around. All I wanted to do was watch basketball. You know a sport that has a score. I would have even accepted volleyball, track, wrestling, soccer or another other real sport. I am done with my rant. Have a good day and I will see some of you at the Village Idiot tonight and we can further discuss the ridiculousness of the Olympics. One more thing. If you showed up at Athens to watch trampoline you are even weaker than the activity itself.

I wanted to thank everyone for coming to our July 1st and 4th shows. We had a blast hanging out with everyone. These shows are always some of my favorites because the Beddington Fair allows us to play in Martinsburg and see a lot of old friends and the July 4th show gives us a chance to open up for signed bands. The EP is at the print shop and the website will announce its arrival soon! We will be taking some time off the next few months taking care of some personal things are getting ready to come back stronger than ever. Take Care.

Wanted to drop a line and say hi to everyone. It was great to be back at the village idiot. It has really grown into my favorite place to play. The people that come out to the shows there are becoming more like an extended family. If you have not stopped by to grab a meal and catch a show you don't know what you are missing. I am super excited about going back to NYC this weekend. I have some friends up there and it is a great opportunity for me to catch up with them. We will be arriving during the day Saturday because our photographer Lorenzo is back from Italy, and ready to do another set of photos. Where better to do our new photo's than the city that never sleeps? Thanks for the support and take care.

Just wanted to stop by and say hi to everyone. I also wanted to thank everyone who have been coming out to the shows. I always enjoy catching up with everyone before and after the shows. Please check out the Waiting MP3 and let us know what you think. I have been going through a lot of changes lately. New place to live, new job and new responsibilities that have consumed a lot of my time. I am looking forward to adjusting to all these changes and focusing on my music. Well that is it for today, I hope everyone is doing well. Take Care.

Wanted to write today and officially wish Jason a happy birthday. I wanted to do it yesterday, but I did not get home from work until 10 pm. Hopefully he will like his present that is setting in his bedroom. I can also verify his story about us at Alto's and about this band. When we got started Jason and I made a lot of promises to each other that we would work hard and not let adversity get in our way. I know my poor parents must have thought I was crazy when I said, "I have decided to stay in the panhandle, live in a ghetto apartment with Jason, and only eat Raimen noodles because that is all we can afford." I actually think I sold the idea a little better than that, but you get the idea. I have seen great times with Jason and I have seen hard times when each one of us thought we wouldn't make it through, but we did. Jason has always been there for me and I hope he can say the same for me. Here is to the first 25 years. I can't wait to see what the next 25 years brings to us. H APPY BIRTHDAY!

Tomorrow I head back home to spend time with my family. My bass work is almost completed for the new album. I would like to take time to personally thank Golder for the time that he has spent with me to make sure that I am happy with my results. I wanted to take time to wish everyone a merry Christmas. I can't wait for the shows coming up in January. I hope everyone is able to come to at least one show so you can start hearing the new stuff. Till then take care.

8:48 PM -
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! I spent my time back home resting and catching up with my relatives. I guess it is now time to go back to work. I have been working with our producer Golder O'Neil on the bass lines for the new album, and we have managed to finish 4 tracks already. I will be finishing up everything this weekend. I have been having a lot of fun with my studio time this time and have learned a lot from Golder. Well I don't have a lot on my mind right now, so I won't babble. Till next time, take care.

Well today I am one year older and hopfully one year wiser. I spoke with our producer today and scheduled some more time in the studio for Nov. and Dec. I am next on the tracking list and can't wait to get started. The bar as been set high on this album by the great job Mike did on the drums. I must say that this studio experience has been great. I have learned alot by working with our producer, and can't wait to talk to him about my tracks. Everyone is really upbeat about things this time, and I think it is showing in the recordings. Jason did a great job with the songwriting and Dave has the hooks we need to make this album a lot of fun for the fans. Hopefully I will be able to play up to the level of the rest of the band. I am also growing anxious about the show on the 15th. I hope everyone is able to make it out to the show. I think it is going to be a lot of fun since we have not played out live in a while. Well that is it for now. I hope everyone is having a good day. Till next time, take care.

I don't think I could be any more tired, but the problem is that I still can't sleep. So I thought I would be productive with my time and put in another journal entry. I appologize for not having one for the past two weeks, but I have been very busy with work and practice and can't always find time to check my email or write a journal entry. It is exciting to think that we are less than one week away from going back to the studio to start the recording phase of the new album. I am looking forward to working with our producer. I have only heard great things about him and from our initial meetings he has had a lot of ideas about our music and style that have really helped. I guess my biggest news from the last two weeks is that I got a new amp! I finally went out and sold my left lung to get the Ampeg I always wanted. I figured we are going all out on this album and I to have the right equipment to get the job done. I know some of you have been waiting on Dave's surprise and we were hoping to have already posted it, but there have been some delays. That's all from me. Till next time. Take care

8:23 PM -
Well it's another horrible day to be a Raider fan. One nice thing about them losing though is that I tend to update my journal after a loss. I have been suffering through a cold this week, so there is not a lot to talk about. I spent most of this week either at work or in bed trying to get better. I did want to say that I had a great time at our annual Halloween party last night. Maybe Charlie Brown will kick the football next year. I am glad to hear that our guestbook can be used for such heated socio-political conversations such as, who's better trogdor or voltron? I will not be giving an opinion, but if you are lost in this discussion I can give you a website that might help you out. Check out homestarrunner.com and look at the strong bad email's for the trogdor email. Well that is all I have for this week. Take care

I would like to start off my journal entry this week by thanking the my favorite football team the Oakland Raiders for participating in this years season. Pick up your commemorative "Didn't We Play In The Super Bowl Last Year" t-shirt. Now that I got that out of my system. I have been busy working with Mike to get the beats down for the new album. Mike is definately working his a$$ off to make this a great album. As far as my preparation goes I have been listening to a lot of my influences. Right now I am listening to my biggest influence Toad The Wet Sprocket. I am trying to tweak my bass parts right now and make sure that I put my best foot forward. I am also working on my voice to help out with backup vocals on this album. I have a long way to go, but I am working on it. Well I think that is it for now. Thanks for listening, and till next time take care.

So we checked the stats for our website and low and behold people actually check out my journal page. Now I feel bad for not updating it. I will try to update once a week like Dave does from now on. I would first like to thank everyone who came out to the Apollo. We had a lot of fun putting that show together. Since then we have been working towards the new album. Right now we are still in practice and pre-production mode. I think that we will have another month of that or so before the actual recording begins. We are thinking about playing out a few times in October so please check the website for updates. If you can't tell I really don't have a lot to say today. Jason and I have been watching football and enjoying a little R & R. Till next time, take care.

Well its about time I chime in with my two cents. As everyone has been writing about we are getting ready to hit the studio again. I am anxious to get started. I know we have a lot of long practices ahead of us before we go in, but it will be worth it in the end. It will be nice to go back to the studio now that we are a little older, and hopefully a little wiser than we were last time. My idea about making this record is go in and make sure that I am pleased with the work that we do and hopefully that will filter into the fans liking the album. I hope that we will have a lot of photos and stuff to show you guys while we record so you can see what the process is like. Well that is it for now. Till next time, take care.

Nothing is more annoying than when someone just won't keep their online journal up to date. I think I have heard that about a million times since I last posted something. Of course I have waited two months to put something new in my journal. The last two months have been really hectic for me and I do appologize for not posting. I have been adapting to a lot of new things in my life and of course have been busy with the band. I seem to be getting back on some kind of schedule though so I should be able to update more often. (but I wouldn't bet of it :) We took a much needed break this weekend to recharge our batteries. We are still working on new material for the new album and I think that having a weekend where I didn't play or practice helped refocus me creatively. I was amazed that we sold out of t-shirts so quickly. We ordered over 70 shirts and they were gone in 2 weeks! If you missed out on the first shipment don't worry. We have more ordered already. I urge everyone to try to catch a show sometime this month or next month. After that the tour schedule will start coming to an end for this year as we look to hit the studio. I am looking forward to getting off the road for a little while to put some of these new songs to cd. Well that is it for now. Thanks for listening and take care!

If you are a member of the rythm section of this band, then today is a national holiday. Today is Cold's New Album Day! Mike and I have been waiting years for this thing to come out and it hit shelves today. I manipulated my schedule to be there when the store opened to grab my copy. I must say I am loving the album already and it also came with a DVD, which was good because it is hard to get into the head's of Cold because they are not a band who receives a lot of press. Today has been somewhat frustrating. I often am caught in life having an opposite opinion to those people around me. I am sure that they think I am trying to be difficult with them, but I am really not. I just want to voice my side of things so everyone knows where I am coming from. This often leads to people thinking I am trying to be confrontational, but I really just want to look at things from all angles. Hopefully I will get things worked out though, and writing this entry has helped me considerably. Thanks Journal! Take care.

5:09 PM -
Well it has been awhile since I posted, and I appologize, but I have been really busy. I am finally leaving my day job and looking forward to starting my new career. I have been super busy interviewing and job searching so it has not left me a lot of time to leave journal entries. Ok enough with the excuses for why I have been lazy. NYC was insane! We had such a good time hanging out with Green To Think and Bowman. It was a special night for me because I had an old friend from high school and two friends from college show up at the show. They will never know just how much things like that mean to me. I was once told "A rich man is a man who can truly say he has friends." Friday night I felt like the richest man in the world thanks to those three. I thought the show went well and the crowd seemed to respond to our music. We went to the best little pizza place at like 4:00 am. That is the greatest thing about NYC. Everything is open 24 hrs! We continue to hone and improve on the new songs as we search for a place to record and people to work with on the project. Don't read into this and think it will be out soon. We are still in the writing phase and we are not going to rush this album. We expect to raise the bar a considerable height from the last album, and will not rest until we do just that. Till then take care

I am definately falling behind on this journal thing. It has almost been a month since I last put an entry in and I appologize. This weekend was so crazy up in Gettysburg. It was great to go back to the Lamba Chi house and play another house party there. Those guys always welcome us with open arms and pack the place for us. I also had fun hanging out with Backyard Memories again. They are a great bunch of guys and I wish them all the luck in the world. I will never forget Justin's response to some feedback on his microphone on Sat. "It flares up and then goes away, a lot like herpies!" I am still laughing about that one. The attic was a great venue. I can't believe the college spent so much money on a live music venue. Of course I found out the poor students pay as much to go there as they would to go to Harvard. I am glad I don't have to make there loan payments (mine are bad enough). The people there are fantastic though and every time we go there I think we make a handful of new fans and that always makes for a good time. Well that is it for now, take care.
